A multi million dollar electric car manufacturing plant has begun development in south Georgia.
The $325 million dollar plant is in Bulloch County Near Statesboro.
They will specialize in making thermal barriers for electric cars.
A protection piece that wraps around parts of an electric car, cooling it, to prevent fires.
The plant is being financed by Aspen Aerogels, a Massachusetts based company.
State economic development officials asked the company to expand in the south, as a part of a plan to build-up the electric car market.
Hiring for the 250 operators at the plant will take place in coming months.
The plant itself is scheduled to open doors next year.
